My Favorite Things - Mon Cheri

Hope everyone has had a great day, my Day hasn't been very exciting, just the usual day to day family things hahah.

Anyway, a few days ago a friend asked me to make her daughter a Sweet 16 Card, I can't believe she is turning sixteen already.. the time seems to go so fast now. My eldest was friends with her son when we moved to the area we are in now, although they have since grown apart his Mum and I are still friends.

Mum didn't really give me much info into what she wanted on the card, just told me to go with it and she would love anything I make, gotta love regular orderers lol.

I actually didn't make this card - process wise the way I normally would. I started out not having much of an idea of what I was going to do. I found a card and a sketch on pinterest that kinda gave me an idea of what I wanted to do.

So I started out by cutting my numbers using a My Favorite Things die set called Big Numbers, I used some scraps of black cardstock for this as they not overly big dies and mine are all separated from previous uses. I used my Sizzix Big Shot for all my cutting. I actually ended up at the end cutting a second set of numbers at the black was too stark (is that the right word) on my end project. I cut another set using Kaisercraft Pink Cardstock.

I then went looking for a "Sweet" word die... I actually don't have one which I thought I did.. so I decided to try and cut one on my Silhouette Cameo. I dont use my Silhouette very often as it always seems to be hit and miss so I (very rarely) cut stickers for my planner on it and that's about it. It actually took me three goes to get a good enough cut to use on my card. I was tempted to give up but on the third try it wasn't too bad. This again was just cut using some scraps of cardstock.. possibly either American Crafts or Kaisercraft Cardstock.

Next I cut a circle shape using My Favorite Things Pierced Circle Stax (no reason for choosing these they were just on my desk from another project). I used Kaisercraft Cardstock on my Sizzix Big Shot for this.

Once I had these things all done I had to start thinking about how I was going to make this card work. I decided I wanted to use a Pure Innocence stamp from My Favourite Things.. I wasn't sure on what i was going to use just what sort.
Most of my PI's were a younger looking girl and since Laura - the Birthday Girl was turning sixteen i wanted something a little more mature. I found the Mon Cheri set, and decided it was perfect. I already had one stamped and cut in the back of my stamp set which was great and saved me a step. **I normally stamp a few of whatever i'm working with and pop them in a little bucket on my desk or back into the stamp set packet.
I coloured her up using Copic Markers (listed below), like I said she was already stamped out however would have been stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black on Mondi Color Copy 250GSM.

I cut the papers and all the layers up on my Cutterpillar Pro. The patterned papers are from Party with Amy Locurto by Pebbles, and the plain cardstocks are from Kaisercraft.

I added some Washi Tape to my card (shock horror I never do that hahah) but it just fit in perfectly. Not sure of the brand, but I did get it from Craft Online.

Everything was attached using Scotch ATG and Tombow Mono Multi.

That's it, my card is done and ready for pick up :-)
